| Monday I received an e-mail from Matt Dellinger of the New Yorker magazine. He is doing a piece on the Old Crow Medicine Show and had found their TestingTesting show (they were on in November, 1998) by searching on the web for pages on the band. He wanted to interview me about the band and their TT show. He was also interested in TestingTesting. We had that phone interview this afternoon.
It was another opportunity to tell someone about the amazing experience called the Old Crow Medicine Show. You can hear the energy in their TT show. Derek joined me in the interview.
It was great talking to someone who gets it. Someone who has found something outside of Corporate Music. The Old Crow Medicine Show is the antithesis of Britney Spears and her ilk. The Old Crow Medicine Show is about the love of playing music. Britney Spears is about making money and the music is incidental. |
