My Zorki 3M arrived.
This is the partially disassembled body. The viewfinder has been removed from the top section. Hopefully I will be able to send it off to Oleg for reassembly and new shutter curtains next week. My 50mm lenses will live on the Zorki with it's 1:1 viewfinder. The 50/2 Jupiter 8 is on the left. The Zorki was made in 1955 and the J8 is from the 1970s. I would really like to get a tabbed silver J8 eventually. I've been looking at these pictures a lot. All taken with a Leitz Summitar 50/2 just like the one in the middle of the picture above. I don't think that my Summitar will make Whidbey Island look like an Italian village in the 1950s but I like the look of the old Summitar. The J8 is contrastier and my current thinking (subject to change without notice) it that I will use the J8 for color and the Summitar (once I get it rebuilt) for black and white. I'm not sure where the Industar 50 will end up (on the right.) The Leica IIIc will have wide angles on it so maybe I will carry it around with the Leica as an occasional 50. Somewhat an embarrassment of riches on the 50mm front.
A reader of this blog, Terry Nelson, was very generous in sending me his camera case with a couple of cameras in it.
It's a Pentax Spotmatic SPII with a Super Takumar 35/3.5. It all seems to be working fine. I will run some film through it tomorrow. Just the model I wanted to complement my Pentax H1a.
There they are together. Aren't they cute? I'm going to enjoy these two. They are just perfect for what I want.
He also sent this beautiful Olympus OM2 with the Zuiko 35/2 and a Zuiko 75-150 zoom. As much as I've always wanted an OM1 or OM2, it just doesn't fit with what I need so I'm going to see if I can trade it for a 28mm lens for My Leica IIIc. Thanks, Terry! |
