best. christmas. ever.

It was a special Christmas this year since all the kids, large and small, made it. My oldest, Jenny, with her husband William and kids Robyn and Evan. Last Christmas William was in Iraq and next Christmas he will be in Afghanistan. They were up from Colorado Springs, CO. My middle child, Katie, and her son Mike. My youngest, Robby, and his girlfriend Megan. It was magic. The entire month has been magic. The first part of the month was going down to Colorado Springs to see Jenny and William. Then the snow arrived on on the 17th. And it kept arriving. While the snow could be a pain it was also beautiful. A source of many adventures. Jenny and William made it up from Colorado amid snowstorms and spent the afternoon of Christmas eve with us. Christmas day was great and Jenny and William and Robyn and Evan spent the night. We were to spend Christmas afternoon with the Coale family at my brother Terry's but snow prevented that. It happened Saturday instead but Zoe and I were to tired but all the kids made it down and Terry was able to pick up Mom and bring her to the party. Yesterday Jenny and family came over for portraits. They left late afternoon to see an old friend of Jenny's and have dinner at her mom's and are on their way back to Colorado this morning. That was the end of Christmas for us. All the planning, preparation, and doing for Christmas was over but for taking down the tree and decorations. We were both sad last night for the fact that the magic that was our Christmas was going but so glad that it had happened.
