Space Station Science Picture of the Day for June 12, 2003
Last week Earth's magnetic field was buffeted by a high-speed solar wind stream, which triggered a geomagnetic storm. High above our planet, International Space Station science officer Ed Lu saw vivid green auroras dancing outside the window, and he captured a new movie of Southern Lights from the ISS.
