This is traditional "Down East" style construction, using primarily Whidbey Island grown materials. The keel, deadwood, stem, knees, and shaftlog are Douglas Fir and bolted together with 3/8 in.bronze rod and bolts. The hull is planked with 3/4 in. thick western red cedar and fastened with 1 1/4 #12 silicon bronze screws. The white oak for the 1" thick ribs and butt blocks is from the Midwest.
